Abstract

The objective of this study is to improve employee engagement with the organization in the field of aviation by defining the factors that affect the employee's commitment to the organization. An integrated approach of qualitative and quantitative methods was employed. Accordingly, with the qualitative method, the study conducted in-depth interviews with 50 employees and managers working in the aviation field to assess the completeness of the questionnaire and the respondent's ability to provide information. On that basis, the questionnaire will be edited and used for the quantitative phase, which was conducted by surveying 265 employees in one airline company to evaluate the reliability of the scales and was also used to test the research model and research hypotheses. The research results show that there are 7 factors affecting the employee's commitment to the organization in the aviation field. Promotion opportunities are the most influential factor, followed by colleagues, income, organizational culture, working environment, direct management, and work-life balance. From the research results, implications for improving employee engagement with the organization in the aviation field are proposed.
