Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to study the impact of FDI on the economic growth of the southern key economic region with data collected from the Statistical Yearbooks of 8 provinces and cities including Hochiminh city, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Tien Giang. The study used the regression method of balanced panel data in three ways: pooled OLS, random effects and fixed effects). The research results show that state investment capital, private investment capital, Foreign direct investment (FDI) capital, the number of untrained workers and the number of trained workers have an impact on economic growth as measured by the economic growth rate. gross regional product (GRDP) of localities in the southern key economic region.
