Abstract

The paper uses small and medium enterprises- researching database from 2013 to 2015 by   Centre Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) to study about effects of social capital on   the performance of 5,060 SMEs in Vietnam. Logit regression results show that the the business scale and the level of regular economic linkage of businesses with enterprises in the industry and other industries have a great impact on the business performance of enterprises. The higher the economic linkage between businesses reduces the operational efficiency of enterprises, especially the connection between businesses in the same business lines. At the same time, the larger the business scale, the lower the business efficiency. As a result, the author puts forward some ideas to support the production and business activities of SMEs
