Current situation and demand for public relations human resources of firms in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

Public relations (PR) and the demand for PR human resources are receiving the attention of employers, candidates, before choosing university and society. To identify PR demand, this study used a mixed research methodology by collecting 100 describe recruitment information, in-depth interviews with 15 experts, and a survey of 228 firms. The research results show that the demand for PR human resources is increasing from 2016 to 2025 and is expected to continue to increase in the period 2025 – 2030. The trend of PR demand for human resources is y = –1,178x2 + 32,067x + 21,283. The study identified 23 measurement items belonging to 5 factors: professional, individual, method, social and attitudes affecting PR quality. This result contributes to elucidating the scientific basis of determining human resource needs in terms of quantity and quality, and at the same time helping training institutions have the orientation in opening a branch, defining targets as well as building develop programs, organize training to meet the needs of employers
