Impacts of job demand and resources with work engagement and creativity of bankers in HCM City

Abstract

The competition of banks in Vietnam is increasing and a specific point is that the rate of bank staffs who want to quit is very high. How to make employees to engage with work and to be creative more in work is a topic that attracts the interest of both researchers and  managers. This study aims to analyze impacts of job demands – resources, personal resources and coworker support on work engagement and creativity of banking staff in HCM city. The mix research method is used to build the research model and to verify hypotheses with data of 299 banking staff. The results of research pointed out that proposed antecedents in model have influences on work engagement and creativity of employees. Co-worker support is important factor that influences the employees’ work engagement and this factor affects strongly the creative behavior of employees.
