The purpose of this research is to assess how climate change has affected the economic expansion of ASEAN nations. Land pollution, sea level rise, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are utilized to quantify climate change. Empirically investigating this issue, the Fixed Effects Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) method is utilized in conjunction with panel data spanning the years 1990 to 2018. The findings from the FGLS model estimation suggest that climate change exerts a varied influence on the economic growth of ASEAN member states. More precisely, total pesticide use in agriculture has a positive impact on economic development, whereas CO2 emissions have a detrimental effect. Moreover, economic growth is positively impacted by foreign direct investment, trade openness, and institutional stability. To stimulate economic expansion and bolster growth drivers, ASEAN nations must adopt more robust measures to deal with climate change.
2024-03-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Tạp chí Nghiên cứu Tài chính - Marketing https://jfm.ufm.edu.vn/index.php/jfm/article/view/498 Relationship between financial inclusion, inflation and financial stability of countries around the world and lessons for Vietnam 2024-03-18T15:55:29+00:00 Pham Tien Dat phamtiendat@ufm.edu.vn Tran Thi Kim Oanh kimoanh@ufm.edu.vn
The study examines the correlation between financial inclusion, inflation, and financial stability across 58 countries during the period 2004-2022, employing PVAR analysis. Impulse-response function outcomes indicate a negative relationship between financial stability and both financial inclusion and inflation rate, while financial inclusion and inflation rate display a positive correlation. These results suggest that financial inclusion may exacerbate financial instability, potentially leading to prolonged inflation. Additionally, variance decomposition results affirm the interconnectedness of financial inclusion, inflation, and financial stability. Based on these findings, we offer policy suggestions for enhancing financial stability in Vietnam.
2024-03-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Tạp chí Nghiên cứu Tài chính - Marketing https://jfm.ufm.edu.vn/index.php/jfm/article/view/440 Impact of government interventions on the stock market during Covid-19: A case study in Vietnam 2024-03-09T02:35:25+00:00 Nguyen Hong Thang hgthang@ueh.edu.vn Huynh Cong Hoa huynhconghoa95@gmail.com Dang Hoang Minh Quan dhmquan.dhkt@gmail.com Huynh Thi Thuy Huyen thuyhuyen92@gmail.com Pham Minh Truong pmtruongpharma.yds@gmail.com La Hoang Lam phamminhtien@ufm.edu.vn
The study aims to analyze the reaction of the stock market to the events of government intervention during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study utilizes 8 variables: Average population (DSTB), Average income (TNTB), Income group 1 (TN1), Income group 2 (TN2), Income group 3 (IG3), Income group 4 (TN4), Income group 5 (TN5), Cost of using nursing home (CP), with data collected annually from 2012 to 2022. The results indicate that major cities attract larger populations and a higher proportion of elderly individuals, thus attracting more investment in various forms of nursing homes, thereby improving their competitiveness. Among income groups of residents in provinces and cities, income group 5 has the highest income and shows a positive correlation with cost of using nursing home, which aligns well with reality. In recent years, affluent families have shown a preference for high-end nursing homes offering the best care services, albeit at higher costs than standard ones. However, fundamentally, Vietnamese individuals have not prioritized the choice of living in nursing homes during their elderly years. Research results show that it is necessary to focus on the quality of nursing home services because of increasing demand and the aging population trend of Vietnam in the future.
2024-03-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Tạp chí Nghiên cứu Tài chính - Marketing https://jfm.ufm.edu.vn/index.php/jfm/article/view/476 The influence of influencer marketing and country of origin on purchase intention of technology products on e-commerce platforms 2024-03-11T02:01:42+00:00 Le Phuong Loan 2154080241loan@ou.edu.vn Nguyen Dang Phuong Anh 2154080013anh@ou.edu.vn Le Thi Ngan Hanh 2154080123hanh@ou.edu.vn Bui Ngoc Tuan Anh anh.bnt@ou.edu.vn
This study examines factors affecting the intention to purchase technology products on e-commerce platforms of university students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, including Brand equity, Country of Origin and Influencer Marketing. In addition, microinsurance plays the financial protection and savings role for individuals and families with low income, ensuring social security and sustainable economic development. Therefore, the article aims to determine critical factors influencing low-income customers' intention to buy microinsurance in Ho Chi Minh City. On that basis, the authors propose that the implication of corporate governance contributes to increasing the intent to purchase microinsurance products/services. In the research paper, the authors used a qualitative method by interviewing five managers of five companies related to insurance, finding five factors related to the research topic. Quantitative research was carried out with a sample of 400 customers with low income, using multivariate linear regression analysis, and five factors with a significance level of 5 percent were identified. Finally, the authors have proposed five governance implications in order of priority: Safety, social influence, convenience, ease of use, and benefits. Research applications contribute to orientation for insurance organizations to improve the quality of microinsurance products/services to better serve customers and other low-income people.
2024-03-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Tạp chí Nghiên cứu Tài chính - Marketing https://jfm.ufm.edu.vn/index.php/jfm/article/view/500 A semi-supervised approach for Vietnamese stock news classification with deep learning 2024-03-11T03:12:34+00:00 Nguyen Minh Nhat nhatnm@hub.edu.vn Tran Huynh Minh Tan tanthm@hub.edu.vn
Stock-related news and articles on Vietnamese economic websites and blogs are rapidly increasing, but they are mixed with entertainment news, miscellaneous topics, and advertisements. This makes it annoy for real investors and analysts who only focus to find and analyze the stock-related information that matters (Boudoukh, 2013). This research introduces a novel method for automatically labeling the relevance of news articles to the stock market, based on a set of criteria derived from financial domain knowledge. In addition, this study also develops a deep learning classifier model that leverages the BERT architecture and the Vietnamese language model (viBERT) (Tran, 2020) to achieve high accuracy and efficiency in scoring the stock market news. This approach helps investors and analysts to filter out the irrelevant content on Vietnamese economic websites and access the most useful information for their mainstream analysis of stock movements.
2024-03-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Tạp chí Nghiên cứu Tài chính - Marketing
